Athabasca
Cabin

In the summer of 2000 our oldest voyageurs moved into a brand new cabin. The cabin's name is Athabasca. It was chosen because it reflects the longest and most challenging trips taken by our oldest voyageurs. It was up to Jerry Graham to design a cabin sign that would reflect the mystique of the wilderness. He did and with it a phrase from Sigurd Olson, “Wings of Water”. He challenged the Athabasca Men to come up with a poem while on the Flindt River Exploratory, one that would capture the feeling of the Voyageur in Athabasca country.    (click here to view sign and the poem)
