New projects for 2000                [return to News][return to News]

A new cabin will be ready for summer 2000!  It will be for the oldest campers and will be beyond Muir Cabin near the shore of Cass Lake.  In the autumn of 1999 the site was prepared. The foundation is ready and construction will begin in May 2000.

This new cabin does not mean a larger enrollment at camp. It means there will be more room in all the other cabins!

Camp Chippewa is convinced that bigger is not necessarily better. Chippewa remains what Cap and Mom started in 1935, a small and special group of boys.

The camp office was raised and given a new foundation. Now after a big rainstorm the water will flow away from, not under, the office. The office was originally the work shop.
The site for a new wash house to replace the honorable old "BP" was prepared.  The location will be near the BP, north of Paul Bunyan Highway. To be completed by summer 2001.
